Happy New Year!
Every Monday we post a reading/writing-related question for our followers, and at the end of the month, one lucky commenter is selected to choose a title from our Vault. Whatever we have available: ARCs, signed books, awesome new releases... OR the monthly winner may select any one book to be ordered for him/her from the Book Depository!

Today's Question: Tell us about your favorite 2013 reads... What are the very best books you read last year?
Jaime - In no particular order, I loved FANGIRL + ELEANOR & PARK by Rainbow Rowell, THE SCORPIO RACES + THE DREAM THIEVES by Maggie Stiefvater, CROWN OF MIDNIGHT by Sarah J. Maas, GOLDEN by Jessi Kirby, EMERALD GREEN by Kerstin Gier, SECOND CHANCE SUMMER Morgan Matson, SIEGE AND STORM Leigh Bardugo, THE 5TH WAVE by Rick Yancey, JELLICOE ROAD + FINNIKIN OF THE ROCK by Melina Marchetta, THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT by Veronica Rossi, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green… Okay I’ll stop now, but you should know there are tons more!
Karen - A few that stick out in my mind are NOTES TO SELF by Avery Sawyer, SPLINTERED by AG Howard, and a friend's manuscript who might be a YA Con member *cough cough, Alison* I didn't read nearly as much as I should have in 2013, but I plan to remedy that in 2014.
Alison - THE DREAM THIEVES by Maggie Stiefvater, FANGIRL and ELEANOR AND PARK by Rainbow Rowell, SECOND CHANCE SUMMER by Morgan Matson, JUST ONE DAY by Gayle Forman, SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL and WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE by Trish Doller, REQUIEM by Lauren Oliver, MY LIFE NEXT DOOR by Huntley Fitzpatrick, GRASPING AT ETERNITY by Karen Amanda Hooper), and THE FIFTH WAVE by Rick Yancey.
Katy – FIRE by Kristin Cashore, HOW TO LOVE by Katie Cotugno, JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR by Gayle Forman, ELEANOR & Park and FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell, TIGER LILY by Jodi Lynn Anderson, WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE by Trish Doller, all of THE LUMATIERE CHRONICLES by Melina Marchetta, THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY by Katja Millay, BORN WICKED by Jessica Spotswood, and OUT OF THE EASY by Ruta Sepetys.
Matthew – THE TWELVE FINGERED BOY by John Hornor Jacobs. WINGER, by Andrew Smith. REALITY BOY by A.S. King (reviewed on YAC HERE link). WHERE THINGS COME BACK by John Corey Whaley. Empty by K.M. Walton.
Jessica - Oh man, I read a lot of great books this year! My VERY favorite was one that doesn't come out until 2014, so everyone watch out for OPEN ROAD SUMMER by Emery Lord because you are going to LOSE YOUR MIND for this YA contemporary romance debut! Other books I loved: THESE BROKEN STARS by Amie Kaufman & Megan Spooner, TAKEN by Erin Bowman, THE DREAM THIEVES by Maggie Stiefvater, FANGIRL and ELEANOR & PARK by Rainbow Rowell, JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR by Gayle Forman, THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY by Katja Millay, ALSO KNOWN AS by Robin Benway, GOLDEN by Jessi Kirby, TIME AFTER TIME by Tamara Ireland Stone, and WINGER by Andrew Smith. Ok, I'm stopping now. I could do this all day.
Leigh - I tend to lose track of what I read from year to year, but I'll say I have read some FAB books... I think this year. LOL! Not all are YA, I apologize... And I'm the resident Indie, so most are SP. I loved THE OPPORTUNIST (NA, T. Fisher), and I discovered Kelly Oram this year. THE AVERY SHAW EXPERIMENT was YA and just too cute! Back to NA, CROSSING by Stacey Wallace Benefiel was a refreshing read about -- surprise! -- cross-dressing boyfriends, and LIMITS by Campbell-Reinhardt was hilariously steamy and multicultural! Mexi-Jewish main characters. Who knew? So there you go! Happy New Year!
Erica - So many! THE TESTING by Joelle Charbonneau, TAKEN by Erin Bowman, HOOKED by Liz Fichera, LETTERS TO NOWHERE by Julie Cross, THE PROGRAM by Suzanne Young, EVERBOUND by Brodi Ashton, CREWEL by Gennifer Albin, and so many more. Really the list goes on and on. 2013 was a fantastic year for YA!
